In a hilly part in the western part of Prague there is a course which is managed by the oldest golf club in the Czech Republic – Prague GC, established in 1926. The present course is shorter but there are more than enough complications for golfers. A famous wise crack says that golfers can stand on the flat only on the clubhouse floor. The course has par 70 and length of 5,510 or more precisely 4,864 metres. The handicap of this course adds hits to all golfers.
The first tee is next to the clubhouse and is played gently down on a sloping terrain chine. The second hole leads along the first path on its left, but in the opposite direction. On the third hole you hit to green which is situated down below the hill next to a driving range. Hole Nr. 4 is the longest one and, at the same time, the most difficult one with 542, or more precisely 494 metres and leads across the access road. Interesting hole is Nr. 8 where fairway is in a cross profile on a slope leading down to wood. The ninth hole has a left dogleg and green situated below the clubhouse terrace. Due to its length it is also the second longest hole of the Motol course.
Although the course is very small, its holes are not close to each other, so golfers do not endanger each other with unsuccessful hits.
The clubhouse offers a perfect service, including a restaurant, small shop with golf equipment and club reception. Training areas, driving range and putting green are on both sides of green Nr. 3. The advantage, mainly for students, is a possibility to use the tram stop near the course area entrance.
