Between Liberec and Hrádek nad Nisou the golf holes of the course were created already in 1998 and the course did not have a target to attract crowds of people but to enable playing golf for everybody who was interested without paying exorbitant sums for membership and equipment. The Grabštejn staff still keeps this trend which proves all-day free green with possibility of borrowing clubs. Moreover, outside the course, whose nine holes have the USGA rating as well as other courses in the Czech Republic, offers a five-hole academy contrary to many other courses.
The course is a classical meadow and it is cheerful and it has been gathering difficultness and length of particular holes step by step, although the word “difficultness” is not absolutely right. Of course, you must hit the ball but otherwise each fairway has enough space even for an unsuccessful hit and the number of sand bunkers and water hazards is minimal. You start near a smaller wooden clubhouse with a terrace and then you play slowly down and up by one slope. The longest hole is Nr. 7 which requires a few hits from both tees on path of over 450 metres. Two pars 4 of over 350 metres are not the shortest ones either and there is also par 3 twice but more than 175 metres.
If we add its slight superelevation they are not easy holes for the ones who want to play a par or at least a bogey on each hole. And finally an advice, it is not the best course and I would not say the local people are interested in it. But as the atmosphere is always very friendly there as in a big family, all people know each other and came to have fun, you can also come here and play. You will see that it is worth playing as well as the Grabštejn GC members do.
