January 21, Monday –The King of Ninety holes Bob Hope Chryler Classic became D.J.Trahan
Struggle for imaginary throne lasted till the end and brought strain
Justin Leonard started last round from the first place by four strikes in front of doublet Robert Gamez and D.J. Trahan.
But D.J. Trahan managed to play four birdies on first six holes and Leonardo just two.
Leonard added another birdie in next seventh hole, but that was all in first nine holes. In second “in” nine holes he got three bogey in comparison with Trahans four birdies – and it was resolved. In last round D.J. Trahan overplayed Justin Leonard by seven strikes. On eighteen holes.
On his playmate Robert Gamez (USA) tiredness was show up, visible already in fourth round. In last round he felt down to sixteenth position.
In top 10 were also from famous players Steve Elkington from Australia, who played his tournament standard. He and other Australian player Brett Rumford managed to keep up with American players, who took left eight places.

January 20, Sunday – In Abu Dhabi won German player Martin Kaymer
During first three rounds he made leading position, which helped him to get a primacy
Martin Kaymer won tournament in Abu Dhabi Golf Championship in style start – finish. During four rounds he checked his lead and even if he played two beyond par in last round, finally he rejoiced in victory.
To the start of last round second Anthony Wall (ENG) had nervous breakdown and with 77 strikes shared seventeenth position.
On the contrary to the second position broke through Swede Henrik Stenson and Lee Westwood from England.
Colin Montgomerie managed to play just once under the par in last round, but that was enough just for 23rd shared position.
More worse went Miguel Angle Jimenez (ESP), three times played over par and just in second round managed to beat the norm of course by three strikes.
With hopes entered to tournament also Darren Clarke (NIR), but twice par and twice over the norm brought him just sixty-first place.

January 20, Sunday – Justin Leonard is leading after fourth round in California
Robert Gamez dropped down to the second place
Justin Leonard (USA) play good golf in every round of Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and thanks to this he took the first place by four strikes.
Even if this tournament is very popular, it is still missing absolute world top golf players.
Approach to next rounds Alex Čejka missed really unfortunately.
Just one strike sentenced him to onlooker role, when he played par in fourth round. He played wrong the third hole with three par, where he played double bogey, but he sill had chance on the last hole. To play par was enough. But who plays golf know, that it is not easy.
And for Alexe became the last hole fatal, he played bogey ant that meant end in this tournament for him.
Except Alex Čejka didn´t finished the tournament also other famous players, e.g. Mark O´Meara, Daniel Chopra, Chris DiMarco, Matt Kuchar, Mark Calcavecchia, David Duval and John Daly, who didn´t even start the fourth round after his score 71, 70 and 71.

January 19, Saturday – Martin Kaymer goes hardly to his target – to win in Abu Dhabi
German player is still leading by six strikes and that gives him big chance for victory
His third round wasn´t as much good as two before, but thanks to he didn´t play any bogey, his fourth birdies were enough.
Anthony Wall (ENG) moved to the front positions. He played seven birdies, and with four of them he crowned first four holes.
Lee Westwood (ENG) also moved from eighteen position to the fourth place and he missed just two strikes to the second place.
In first nine holes predominated Englishmen, but Martin Kramer will hopefully fight for the tournament victory.

On the top is American Robert Gamez after three rounds
Robert Gamez has got eighteen strikes to the good after three eighteen holes rounds, but doublet Trahan and Leonard is straight behind him, and Boo Weekley is also waiting for his opportunity.
In first tenth are just Americans, between them are just two Australian, Steve Elkington and Brett Rumford.
Scott Verplank (USA) is for now 12th, Jasper Parnevik (SWE) is 23rd, Canadian Mike Weir hold 31st place, Robert Allenby (AUS) together with Mark O´Meara (USA) are on 50th place, John Daly held 75th place, Chad Campbell (USA) is on 94th place.
Daniel Chopra (SWE) loose his form from last weeks and he is on 110 position.
Alex Čejka is not good, first two rounds he played under par, the third he managed to play four under par, but if it will be enough for final rounds is not obvious.
In contrast to last Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is played five rounds. Cut is planned to score of seven strikes under par, so maximum 281 strikes is enough for start in next rounds.

January 18, Friday – Martin Kaymer wants to win in Abu Dhabi
German player played in the second round better then in the first
Martin Kaymer showed his good mind to win this year a title. He didn´t play eagle in the second round as in the first one, but thanks to eight birdies he got six strikes to the good.
After him the players, who were after first round in Top 10, to almost the same positions except few exceptions.
Their places took Phillip Archer (ENG) and South African James Kingston, who moved to the fifth place thanks to their scores.
Cut (145; +1) split the players on 68 who go to next round and the rest, who leave the tournament.

Mark Calcavecchia (USA) started from 13th position after first round, when he played 67 strikes, but 71 strikes in the second round put him down to the 21st position.
Mark O´Meara (USA) is 42nd, with 69 and 71he didn´t reach higher.
Jesper Parnevik (SWE) played 67 and 74, that was enough for 56th shared position

January 17, Thursday – In United Arab Emirates starts Abu Dhabi Golf Championship
German player Martin Kaymer is leading after first round
European Tour took place with another tournament in United Arab Emirates, where on course Abu Dhabi Golf Club 120 players fight over the victory.
After first round German player Martin Kaymer is leading, as the only one he played six under par, when he got one bogey, five birdies and on hole No. 10 with 5 par he played eagle.
Tournament was played for the first time two years ago. The first winner was Chris DiMarco, last year was successful Paul Casey. This year there were lots of great player on course with 72 par and with length 6.857 m (7.500 yds).

Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is played on course Classic Club in Palm Desert
Tournament, which has been played since 1954, was played as a Thunderbird Invitational first year and the first winner was Fred Hass. In this tournament won also golf legends as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus , Fred Couples or Phil Mickelson.
Since 1965 is tournament known with name Bob Hope, icon of American show business, who liked golf as well.
From players, that started this year, knew the feeling of the winner e.g.
David Duval, Jesper Parnevik, Justin Leonard, Mike Weir and Chad Campbell.
The total prize money is 5.100.000 USD, for the winner is prepared 900.000 dollars.
To the first tournament this year entered also Alex Čejka.

There are three godfathers on the first tournament in Korea
Three champions are stars of new tournament, that will be played from 16th to 19th March in Pinx Golf Club in Korea
K.J. Choi, the winner of seven tournaments on PGA Tour, Padraig Harrington, the winner of British Open and Colin Montgomerie, the winner of World Cup, will be the biggest “leaders” of starting list of opening tournament Ballantine´s Championship.
European Tour together with Asian Tour and Korea PGA protect this tournament on he South part of Korean peninsula, thanks to that it compete to American PGA Tour and infiltrate to another country.
Connection of Scotch whisky Ballantine´s with golf become a tradition and tournament will take place in calendar many great players every year.

Soul (ČTK) – Korean golf player K.J.Choi decided to help to families of forty victims of fire
Fresh winner of tournament in Honolulu decided to help families of forty victims of fire of frozen food store in South Korean Ičchon. On their account he will send 320.000 dollars from 954.000 bonus for winner.
Causation of in Ičchon, that is situated 80 km from Soul, is not known yet. Police fact-find, with the biggest probability it happened thanks to bad safety conditions. The fire clime the life of 40 victims, from them 19 still needs to be identify.

This weekend thirty-three-years-old player won Sony Open tournament in Honolulu and thanks to that he improved his own maximum. More money got this year just Swede Daniel Chopra, the winner of season opening tournament.
Sovereign world No. one is still American Tiger Woods, who hasn´t played yet this year.
